What is AlmaLinux?
AlmaLinux is a Linux distribution born in 2021, created to pick up where CentOS left off after CentOS changed its development model. It's binary-compatible with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL): packages and software built for RHEL run on it directly, with no adaptation needed.
Unlike Ubuntu and Debian, AlmaLinux uses the dnf package manager (the successor to yum) and follows the conventions of the RHEL/Fedora family rather than the Debian family.
Why choose AlmaLinux for your VPS
If you're already familiar with the RHEL/CentOS ecosystem (say, through a professional workstation or a Red Hat-oriented Linux certification), AlmaLinux lets you use the same commands and conventions on your own VPS.
